Mountain weather can be different from the surrounding desert.

During summer, temperatures can become very high, while winter nights can feel surprisingly cool.

Avoid entering the wadi during or immediately after heavy rainfall because seasonal water flow can make low-lying areas dangerous.

Wadi Sidr is located around the Masafi and Hajar Mountain region of the UAE.

Masafi itself sits on the edge of the Hajar Mountains and provides a convenient starting point for exploring the surrounding mountain and wadi landscapes.

AWD or 4x4 is recommended if you're planning to explore the rougher tracks.

A capable vehicle gives you more flexibility when the terrain changes from paved roads to gravel, rocks and sandy sections.

For remote exploration, travelling with another vehicle is always preferable.

There are opportunities for short walks around the wadi and surrounding mountain areas.

This is more of an exploration and outdoor adventure area than a single marked hiking trail, so download your route beforehand if you're planning to walk away from the main track.
