About Gypsy Overlanding Family ®
The Road Less Travelled Is Where We Like to Be.
Gypsy Overlanding Family ® started with something simple — a family that loves travelling, driving, camping and discovering places that don’t always appear on the usual travel map.
What began as a personal travel diary to save our journeys, photographs and memories slowly became a place to share those experiences with friends and fellow explorers.
We are not professional travel guides or tour operators. We are simply people who enjoy getting behind the wheel, leaving the highway, finding a trail and seeing where it takes us.
Sometimes it’s a desert track. Sometimes a mountain road, a wadi, a remote beach or a forgotten village. And sometimes, it’s a road that doesn’t really look like a road at all.
That’s usually where the fun begins.
Why We Share Our Trails
Whenever we explore, we try to record what we experience — GPS tracks, photographs, videos, locations, terrain and our personal observations.
We share them because we know how useful it can be to see a trail before heading out.
But our trails are experiences, not guarantees.
Some routes on Gypsy Overlanding Family ® are recorded by us. Others may come from friends, fellow explorers, community members or publicly available and open-source information.
Trail conditions can change. Roads can disappear. Sand can move. Weather can transform a route. Access can become restricted.
Information that was correct yesterday may not be correct tomorrow.
Always check current conditions, permissions, weather, local regulations and whether your vehicle and experience are suitable before starting your journey.

We don’t know every trail.

And we certainly don’t get everything right.
But we’re always learning, exploring and adding another road to the map.
Because for us, the best part of travelling isn’t always where the road takes you.
