These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Gypsy Overlanding Family® website, applications, trail database, maps, route information, community features and related Services.

By accessing or using Gypsy Overlanding Family®, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our Services.

1. About Gypsy Overlanding Family®

Gypsy Overlanding Family® is an outdoor adventure and information platform focused on:

  • Off-road trails

  • Overlanding

  • 4x4 routes

  • Road trips

  • Camping

  • Hiking

  • Outdoor exploration

  • Adventure destinations

  • Trail experiences

  • Community-submitted routes and information

Our Services are provided primarily for informational and recreational purposes.

Gypsy Overlanding Family® is not a professional guide, emergency rescue service, navigation authority, government authority or land-access authority.

2. Trail Information Disclaimer

Trail information published on Gypsy Overlanding Family® may come from different sources, including:

  • Trails recorded by our team

  • Personal experiences

  • Friends and contributors

  • Community submissions

  • Publicly available information

  • Open-source information

  • Internet sources

  • Public maps

  • Historical information

  • Third-party information

We make reasonable efforts to provide useful information. However, we do not guarantee that any trail information is accurate, complete, current, reliable or suitable for your particular circumstances.

Trail conditions can change without notice.

Information including:

3. TRAILS ARE USED AT YOUR OWN RISK

ALL OFF-ROAD, OVERLANDING, CAMPING, HIKING AND OUTDOOR ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES INVOLVE INHERENT RISKS.

By using information provided by Gypsy Overlanding Family®, you voluntarily accept and assume responsibility for the risks associated with your activities.

These risks may include:

  • Vehicle damage

  • Mechanical failure

  • Getting stuck

  • Vehicle rollover

  • Collision

  • Serious injury

  • Death

  • Extreme weather

  • Flash floods

  • Flooding

  • Rockfalls

  • Sand

  • Mud

  • Wildlife

  • Insects

  • Remote locations

  • Lack of mobile coverage

  • Getting lost

  • Lack of emergency services

  • Road closures

  • Private property

  • Security risks

  • Natural hazards

  • Other unforeseen circumstances

You are solely responsible for assessing the risks before entering any trail or location.

4. NO GUARANTEE OF TRAIL ACCESS

Publishing a trail on Gypsy Overlanding Family® does not mean that the trail is:

  • Open

  • Legal to access

  • Publicly accessible

  • Safe

  • Suitable for your vehicle

  • Suitable for your experience level

  • Suitable for current weather conditions

Trail access can change at any time.

You are responsible for checking current local laws, permissions, access restrictions, landowner requirements, government regulations and environmental restrictions before entering any area.

5. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

Before starting an off-road or outdoor trip, you should independently verify:

  • Current weather

  • Trail conditions

  • Vehicle capability

  • Fuel requirements

  • Recovery equipment

  • Spare tyres

  • Communication equipment

  • Navigation

  • Emergency contacts

  • First-aid requirements

  • Required permits

  • Land access

  • Local regulations

  • Your own experience and capability

Never rely solely on information published by Gypsy Overlanding Family®.

6. GPS, MAPS AND NAVIGATION

GPS coordinates, GPX files, maps and route information are provided for general informational purposes.

GPS and mapping information may contain errors due to:

  • Recording errors

  • Device limitations

  • Signal loss

  • Mapping errors

  • Changes in terrain

  • Changes in roads or tracks

  • Incorrect source information

  • Third-party mapping systems

  • Data conversion or processing

Never follow GPS instructions blindly when doing so could put you or others in danger.

Always cross-check navigation information with current maps and local information.

7. VEHICLE RESPONSIBILITY

You are responsible for determining whether your vehicle is suitable for a particular trail.

A trail described as suitable for a particular vehicle type does not constitute a guarantee.

Vehicle capability may depend on:

  • Tyres

  • Ground clearance

  • Suspension

  • Vehicle weight

  • Driver experience

  • Weather

  • Terrain

  • Vehicle modifications

  • Recovery equipment

Gypsy Overlanding Family® is not responsible for vehicle damage, mechanical failure, recovery expenses or related losses.

8. WEATHER AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Outdoor conditions can change rapidly.

A trail that was safe during a previous visit may become hazardous because of:

  • Rain

  • Flooding

  • Flash floods

  • Heat

  • Wind

  • Sand

  • Mud

  • Erosion

  • Rockfalls

  • Other environmental changes

You are responsible for checking current conditions before and during your journey.

9. EMERGENCY AND RECOVERY

Gypsy Overlanding Family® does not provide emergency rescue, medical assistance or vehicle recovery services.

Do not rely on Gypsy Overlanding Family® as an emergency communication or rescue system.

For remote journeys, users should carry appropriate emergency communication, navigation, recovery and first-aid equipment and make appropriate travel arrangements.

10. COMMUNITY, FRIEND AND THIRD-PARTY CONTENT

Some trails and information may be received from friends, contributors, community members or other third parties.

Gypsy Overlanding Family® does not guarantee the accuracy, originality, legality, completeness or current status of such information.

If you submit information to Gypsy Overlanding Family®, you confirm that you have the necessary rights or permission to submit it.

11. INTERNET AND OPEN-SOURCE INFORMATION

Gypsy Overlanding Family® may use or reference information that is publicly available on the internet or shared through open-source, public or community platforms.

Where reasonably practicable, we may identify or credit the original source.

If you believe that material has been incorrectly attributed, improperly reproduced or should be removed, please contact us.

We reserve the right to remove or modify content following a legitimate copyright, ownership, privacy or other legal concern.

12. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Unless otherwise stated, Gypsy Overlanding Family®, its name, logo, original photographs, original videos, original written content, graphics, software and other original materials are owned by or licensed to Gypsy Overlanding Family®.

The Gypsy Overlanding Family® name and branding may be protected by trademark or other intellectual-property rights.

You may not copy, reproduce, sell, redistribute, scrape, republish or commercially exploit our original content without prior written permission.

Third-party trademarks, logos, photographs, maps and other materials remain the property of their respective owners.

13. USER CONTRIBUTIONS

If you submit content to Gypsy Overlanding Family®, you confirm that:

  • You have the right to submit the content.

  • The content does not knowingly infringe another person’s rights.

  • The information is not intentionally false or misleading.

  • You have obtained any necessary permissions.

  • You understand that the content may be published.

Gypsy Overlanding Family® may edit, reject, restrict or remove submissions at its discretion.

14. PROHIBITED USE

You must not use Gypsy Overlanding Family® to:

  • Engage in unlawful activities

  • Knowingly trespass

  • Damage natural habitats

  • Damage private or public property

  • Enter restricted areas unlawfully

  • Promote illegal activities

  • Upload malicious software

  • Harass other users

  • Impersonate another person

  • Submit knowingly fraudulent information

  • Scrape or commercially copy our trail database without permission

15. RESPONSIBLE OFF-ROADING

Gypsy Overlanding Family® promotes responsible outdoor recreation.

Users should:

  • Stay on permitted routes

  • Respect local communities

  • Respect private property

  • Respect wildlife

  • Avoid damaging vegetation

  • Avoid disturbing natural or cultural sites

  • Never litter

  • Follow local fire restrictions

  • Follow environmental regulations

  • Leave no unnecessary trace

The fact that a route exists does not necessarily mean that it is legal or appropriate to drive it.

If an area is closed or restricted, do not enter.

16. NO WARRANTY

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services and all trail information are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.

Gypsy Overlanding Family® makes no warranties or representations regarding:

  • Accuracy

  • Reliability

  • Completeness

  • Availability

  • Safety

  • Trail accessibility

  • Current trail conditions

  • Vehicle suitability

  • Fitness for a particular purpose

17. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Gypsy Overlanding Family®, its owners, operators, contributors, administrators, employees, contractors and affiliates shall not be responsible for any loss, injury, damage, expense or claim arising from or related to:

  • Use of trail information

  • Reliance on GPS data

  • Following a published route

  • Vehicle damage

  • Vehicle recovery

  • Property damage

  • Personal injury

  • Death

  • Loss of personal belongings

  • Travel interruption

  • Trail closures

  • Incorrect information

  • Outdated information

  • Weather conditions

  • Natural hazards

  • Acts of nature

  • Third-party conduct

  • Use of third-party maps or services

You use all trail information and participate in outdoor activities at your own risk.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

18. INDEMNIFICATION

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gypsy Overlanding Family®, its owners, operators, contributors, employees and affiliates from claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses arising from:

  • Your use of our Services

  • Your participation in outdoor activities

  • Your violation of these Terms

  • Your violation of applicable laws

  • Your submitted content

  • Your actions while using a trail or route

19. TRAIL UPDATES AND REMOVAL

Gypsy Overlanding Family® may modify, update, restrict, replace or remove trail information at any time.

We are not obligated to immediately update every trail when conditions change.

If you identify an unsafe, inaccurate, closed or restricted trail, please inform us so that we can review the information.

20. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES

Our Services may contain links to external websites, mapping services, social networks and other third-party services.

Gypsy Overlanding Family® is not responsible for:

  • Third-party content

  • Third-party accuracy

  • Third-party availability

  • Third-party privacy practices

  • Third-party security

  • Third-party transactions

Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and policies.

21. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The latest version will be published on this page.

Your continued use of Gypsy Overlanding Family® after updated Terms are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

22. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which Gypsy Overlanding Family® is legally established, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Any disputes shall be subject to the applicable courts or dispute-resolution mechanisms of that jurisdiction.
