Wadi Sal Off-Road Track – Mountain Top Adventure

Some off-road tracks are about getting from one place to another.

Wadi Sal is about climbing higher and seeing where the track takes you.

The route takes you into the rugged Hajar Mountain landscape, where the road gradually gives way to rocky off-road sections, uneven surfaces and mountain climbs. The higher we went, the more impressive the views became.

The drive starts relatively calmly, but the terrain changes as you move deeper into the mountains. Rocky sections and loose surfaces require careful driving, especially on climbs and descents.

The best moment comes when you finally reach the mountain-top section.

From up there, the surrounding valleys and mountain ridges open up in every direction. After spending time concentrating on the track and choosing the right line, stopping at the top gives you a chance to simply enjoy the landscape.

This isn't a route where speed matters.

The fun comes from reading the terrain, keeping the vehicle under control and working together when travelling as a group.

For an overlanding trip, Wadi Sal is a great combination of 4WD driving, mountain scenery and a rewarding viewpoint at the top.
