๐ About this Trail
I wasn't expecting this to feel like much of a trek when I first looked at the route.
The distance is only around 3 km, so initially it looked like something we could finish quite easily. But once we started climbing, I quickly realised that the distance doesn't tell the whole story.
The trail starts around 12.168359, 79.324642 and gradually takes you higher into the hills. According to the GPX track, we climb from roughly 160 metres to around 526 metres, so there is quite a bit of elevation packed into a short distance.
The first few minutes were comfortable.
Then the climb started to get my attention.
We slowed down, took a few breaks and continued at our own pace. I actually prefer trails like this where you don't have to rush. There is something nice about stopping for a minute, looking around and then continuing.
As we climbed higher, the surroundings became quieter and the feeling of being away from the usual roads started to sink in.
After spending time on the trail, reaching the temple felt more rewarding because we'd actually walked our way up instead of simply arriving by road.
If you're looking for a short trekking experience that combines nature, elevation and a temple visit, this is a route worth considering.
๐ก Gypsy Overlanding Family Tip
The interesting thing about this trail is that it crosses seven different mountain landscapes.
So don't look at it as just a short trek to the temple. The real experience is walking through the changing mountain scenery, climbing higher, taking in the views and seeing how the landscape changes along the way.
Seven mountain landscapes, one trail, and a destination that makes the climb worthwhile.
Take it slowly, enjoy each section and don't make the trek about how quickly you can finish.
I would recommend this trail if you enjoy:

It's not a very long trek, but the elevation makes it more interesting than a normal 3 km walk.
