E65 – Liwa Desert Camping & Long Road Track

📍 About this Trail

The E65 track in our Liwa route collection is a long-distance route running deep through the western Abu Dhabi desert.

The track recorded in our GPX covers approximately 143 km, starting around the western Abu Dhabi desert area and continuing south towards the Liwa region.

This is not a short drive where you park the vehicle and start exploring immediately.

It's a long desert road journey, and that's what makes it interesting.

As you travel south, the surroundings gradually become more remote. The urban landscape disappears and the desert takes over, with long stretches of open sand and very little around you.

For an overlanding trip, E65 is useful as a connecting route before heading towards the more remote Liwa camping and dune areas.

The route also gives you the opportunity to combine a long drive with a proper desert camping trip.

For me, this kind of route is less about finding one attraction and more about experiencing the transition from the developed UAE into the vast desert landscape.
