About this trail
๐ About this Trail
There is something special about a Saturday morning drive into the Coorg mountains.
Instead of spending the morning indoors or simply taking the usual road through the hills, we headed out for a short off-road exploration through the Western Ghats.
It's a relatively short route of around 3.9 km, but the landscape makes it feel much more adventurous than the distance suggests.
The route starts at approximately 994 metres and reaches around 1,030 metres, before moving through the surrounding mountain terrain.
What I enjoyed most was the feeling of being away from the regular roads.
The trail winds through the hills, with the vehicle constantly moving across changing terrain. It's not about covering hundreds of kilometres. It's about spending a few hours outdoors, enjoying the drive and discovering another small section of Coorg.
For me, that's what makes these short trails worthwhile.
You don't always need a full-day expedition to have a good adventure.
Sometimes, a Saturday morning, a 4x4 and a mountain trail are enough.
