About this trail
π About this Trail
If you're exploring the Arada side of Liwa, this short track gives you a simple way to leave the main road and get deeper into the desert.
The Arada South East track in our KML is approximately 3.85 km long. It runs through the desert landscape southeast of Arada, with the route gradually moving away from the main road into the open dunes.
This isn't a long-distance expedition.
Instead, it's the kind of short desert track that can work well as part of a Liwa camping or overlanding trip.
The further you move along the track, the more the surroundings feel like the real Liwa desertβopen sand, dunes and very little development around you.
What I like about these shorter tracks is that you don't have to spend the entire day driving.
You can reach the area, air down, explore the track, find a suitable camping location nearby and spend the evening watching the dunes change colour.
And once the sun goes down, Liwa becomes a completely different place.
The silence, the open sky and the lack of city lights make this kind of remote camping experience very different from camping close to the main roads.
π How to Reach
The GPX track begins at approximately:
π 22.897255, 53.420016
and finishes around:
π 22.910854, 53.452599
The recorded track length is approximately 3.85 km.
Because the GPX contains a short line rather than a complete long-distance route, I would recommend treating this as a specific desert access/exploration track, not as a complete Arada-to-Liwa route.
