Sometimes we don't need a challenging off-road trail.

We just need to get away from the city, drive into the desert and spend some quiet time outdoors.

Al Qudra Lake is perfect for that.

An Easy Desert Drive

The drive towards Al Qudra is simple and doesn't require a serious off-road vehicle.

Once you leave the city behind, the landscape slowly changes into open desert. The road and easy tracks make it a comfortable option for a relaxed weekend drive.

Then suddenly, you see water in the middle of the desert.

The lakes surrounded by sand create a beautiful contrast, and the area is also known for native wildlife and birds.

Camping by the Lake

We came here for a simple camping experience.

No complicated plans.

Just find a suitable spot, set up the tent, prepare some food and enjoy the evening.

As the sun goes down, the desert becomes much quieter.

The changing colours of the sky reflected on the water make the evening feel completely different from the Dubai we know.

Just Slow Down

What I like about Al Qudra is that you don't need to do much.

Drive.

Walk around the lake.

Have a coffee.

Watch the sunset.

Sit around the campfire.

Sometimes that's all we need.
